Merchandise Update

The Supporters’ Trust have been very busy during the close season working on not only getting our current range of merchandise re-stocked, but designing and ordering new items for the coming season.  A number of new items have now arrived in stock, including the first of our 125 anniversary range.  The range will include badges, a limited edition friendship scarf and t-shirts with a percentage of the profits going towards the Inter City 125 fund. The first item, pictured above, is now in stock and will be available at the first home pre-season game from the mega-container.  Many thanks to Steve at Chunky Punk Creative for the design of our 125 anniversary logo.

New online shop

As you may be aware, the Trust Shop is solely run on a voluntary basis and it was becoming clear that our online sales have grown to such an extent that moving forward we really needed assistance.  Therefore, from this season, we have outsourced to an external company who will now run the online store on our behalf. You can visit the new shop here Please feel free to send us any feedback you may have on the new shop!

Mega-Container – volunteers required and opening hours

IMG_8627

Towards the end of last season and due to the increasing attendances we moved our merchandise operation from the mega-shed to our newly converted mega-container.  The new mega-container has given us the opportunity to offer an improved service and display the merchandise in a more professional manner.

To help improve the match day experience and reduce the queues at the shop we’re looking for volunteers to help out on match day.

 What we do:

·  Sell merchandise raising money for both The Trust and Football Club

·  Give supporters somewhere to buy/renew memberships

·  Provide Trust information to new and existing supporters

The rota for the shop is prepared weeks in advance, so you can plan ahead with certainty and you can volunteer a few times a season or as often as you want.  If you decide to volunteer we’ll offer training and you’ll work the shift with a member from the Trust Board.

The Mega-Container is open when the first team play a match at home and you’re expected to work a full shift.  On Saturdays the mega-container is open from 2pm – 3pm, at half time and after the match.  For evening games we’re open at 7pm – 7.45pm, at half time and after the match.  We would ideally require you to arrive around 15 minutes before the advertised opening time to set up and get ready.

If you’re interested in volunteering your time for the Trust and Football Club please contact us at info@dhst.org.uk or visit us at the Mega-container on match days.

Mega Container Painting

Microsoft PowerPoint - DHST Xmas Party.pptxWe opened our new mega-container in April. One of the remaining tasks to complete is to paint the exterior of the container.  We are planning to do this over the weekend of Saturday 2nd & 3rd July, and are looking for volunteers to help.

If you would like to help then you can just turn up on the day but it would be useful to gauge numbers so please email us at info@dhst.org.uk with the subject line ‘CONTAINER PAINTING’ to let us know if you can help.

It will of course be subject to the weather but providing it’s not raining heavily we will carry out the work. brushes and gloves will be provided but we would suggest wearing clothing that you don’t mind getting paint on.
We will aim to start at 11:30am and carry on for the rest of the day. Depending on how many people we have helping we may be able to complete the work on the Saturday but the aim is to have it completed in time for the first pre-season friendly at home the following Saturday against Bromley.
We’re also looking for volunteers to help run the shop next season, if you’re interested in helping make money for both the Trust and the Club then we will be happy to discuss what this involves during the weekend or get in touch with us via the email address above.

Mega Container Opens!

Last Saturday’s game against Bognor Regis Town saw the opening of the Mega Container. After many months of hard work the ribbon was finally cut by the Chairman of the Football Club, Jack Payne and accompanied by some words from DHST Chair, Duncan Hart and DHST Board member and project lead, Alex Crane.

It was fantastic to see so many fans visit the shop and the initial feedback suggests it was a resounding success and a vast improvement on our previous Mega Shed. We’re now able to display our merchandise in a much improved arrangement which doesn’t rely on hunting through bags and boxes or running up to the storeroom to check stock. We have a wide range of DHFC goods on offer including t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, caps, replica shirts, badges and of course scarves!

Inside the new shop

We’ve also sorted out our stock of old programmes. The majority of the programmes involve Dulwich and we also have many Premiership, Football League and other Non-League clubs available alongside a selection of fanzines and magazines dating back to the 1950s.

Saturday also saw the launch of a new partnership between the Football Club and Fairtrade football supplier, Bala Sports. They will supply footballs to the Club’s Aspire Academy teams and also for selected first team matches and training. The balls being supplied to the Club are personalised with DHFC colours and the Club crest and logos of the Aspire Academy and DHST. We will be selling some of the footballs in the shop and they should be on sale in due course. Profits from the sale of the footballs will go to local playground and charity, Dog Kennel Hill Adventure Playground to pay for the installation of a new swing.

The Mega Container gives us the opportunity to expand our range and by the start of next season we hope to be able to offer fans different items which have been requested previously alongside new lines of t-shirts and scarves. If there are any items of merchandise which you would like to see then please let us know either on a matchday or by sending us an email at info@dhst.org.uk.

We still have some bits to finish off on the container including the electrical installation and of course the painting of the outside in the customary pink and blue! We’re very grateful to DHST Board and Football Committee member, Andy Greig, or the Honor Oak Handyman as he is also known professionally, for assisting with the electrical installation and we hope that supporters will get involved with the painting. With the weather starting to improve sufficiently to be able to paint we hope to do this very soon.

If you didn’t get the chance to visit on Saturday then we will of course be open for the last home game of the season on Saturday 16th April when we play Lewes. We may also be open during play off matches if Dulwich are involved but based on our current position it’s likely that those matches will take place at the away teams’ ground.

Once again our thanks to everyone who has helped so far from those who contributed financially, local businesses who have provided materials and of course all who helped transform it from an empty shell to the fantastic shop we have today. Finally, thank you to former DHST Board member, Guy Grater, who initiated the original Mega Shed and put in many hours to provide merchandise for supporters.

Mega Container Opening

Container_Opening

We are delighted to announce that the Mega Container will be open for business from 2pm on Saturday against Bognor Regis Town.

Many months of hard work have gone into converting it from an empty shipping container into our new Club shop. We still have some work to complete including electrics and painting of the outside (waiting for warmer and drier weather) which we hope to complete shortly but thanks to Trust Board member, Alex Crane and his team of volunteers we are in a position to start using it.

The previous Mega Shed had served us well but due to increasing attendances and demand for merchandise we decided that we needed to upgrade so we could offer an improved service and range of stock. The new shop will have all the usual merchandise including scarfs, hats and t-shirts alongside the return of our old programme stock which now has its own area.

A special mention to the following businesses and individuals who have helped either financially or by giving up their time or materials to help us get to this stage:

Joe Kensington, Gaird Wray, Toby Kempton, Paul Osman, Tim Crane, Andy Greig, Clare Keeble, Chris Gilbart, The family of Bevan Emerson, Andrew Travers, Bespoke Windows, TCL Electrical Supplies, DHST 2015/16 Board, Hadley Property Group, Dulwich Hamlet Football Club and finally all those who attended our Christmas party fundraiser in December 2015.

If you’re attending the match on Saturday we would love you to join us for the ceremonial ribbon cutting at 2pm or come and visit us at some point later during the day.

Shop sales lead to £600 donation to Club and new ideas for stock welcomed

Many thanks to all those who have continued to use the club shop.  We were delighted that sales totalled £7,900 over the course of the season, up from £7,000 in our 2012/13 promotion season.  This translated into profits since December 2013 of £1,200, which the Trust currently shares 50:50 with the football club.  This has enabled the Trust to donate £600 to the football club, and also make a contibution to DHJFC.

This season we have three new designs of mugs and (coming soon) a new design of scarf.  The pink & blue striped mugs proved particularly popular on Saturday and sold out.  We have managed to source 12 more immediately, and will be putting in a larger order in due course.

We are assured by the club that the new replica shirts will be available by the end of the month.  The new away shirt is a fantastic tribute to our friends at Altona 93.  These can be pre-ordered from the club’s website, or keep your eye out at the shop.

Naturally, we are always looking for ideas to expand our stock.  Please do let us know your ideas at the shop on matchday, email us on info@dhst.org.uk or Tweet your ideas to @dhstorg.

Strong Shop Sales means £600 for the Club

At the end of November the Supporters’ Trust was able to pass to the football club a cheque for £600 as a share of profits from trading at the Club Shop which has once again been very strong in the first half of the season.

Since then we’ve also had a good use of the online paypal facility on our Shop page, helping to spread pink and blue Christmas cheer to many parts of the country.

Many thanks to all those who have shopped with us. We look forward to continue to serve supporters in the New Year.
