DHST Mission 2019

The Society’s objects are to benefit the community by:

  1. being the democratic and representative voice of the supporters of the Club and strengthening the bonds between the Club and the communities which it serves;
  2. achieving the greatest possible supporter and community influence in the running and ownership of the Club;
  3. using its influence to ensure the long-term existence of the Club;
  4. promoting responsible and constructive community engagement by present and future members of the communities served by the Club and encouraging the Club to do the same;
  5. operating democratically, fairly, sustainably, transparently and with financial responsibility and encouraging the Club to do the same;
  6. being a positive, inclusive and representative organisation, open and accessible to all supporters of the Club regardless of their age, income, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexuality or religious or moral belief.

DHST Vision 2019

  • DHST’s Vision is that Dulwich Hamlet will in all respects be a beacon of quality in non-league football – a viable and sustainable football club at the heart of its local community, protected for that community by its structure, ownership and values, and with a secure long-term home in East Dulwich whose facilities act as a hub serving all local people

DHST Objectives 2019-2021

  1.  we will contribute to current and future discussions aimed at the Club having security of tenure over a suitable ground in East Dulwich and at developing contingency plans [end 2019 target – a planning application including a ground meeting our requirements has been approved]
  2.  we will add to the Trust’s shareholding in the Club and Board representation in order to increase our influence [start 2019/2020 season target – Trust to increase shareholding in Club, and Trust to be represented on the Club Board]
  3. we will secure for the Trust a role in governance of the Club, and ensure material movement towards the transparent and healthy culture envisaged in the Trust’s Vision [early 2021 target – governance and culture briefs to be held by Club Board members representing the Trust]
  4. we will investigate and report on alternative ownership structures designed both to protect the Club and to protect the community’s interest in the Club [end 2019 target – report submitted to Trust Board]
  5.  we will extend membership coverage to involve all parts of the community [early 2021 target – membership numbers to be higher than early 2019, and to represent a wider demographic spread]
