Hamlet at the Hamlet

If Champion Hill had existed in 1601 it is almost universally accepted by historians of the period that William Shakespeare would have debuted his masterpiece ‘Hamlet’ here, instead of at The Globe. However, through cruel twists of fate and outrageous fortune, this masterpiece has eluded this part of South London for centuries - until now.
Actors From The London Stage returns from a ten-week tour of the US to present this unique production of Hamlet at The Hamlet.
2025 marks the 50th anniversary of this legendary touring company founded at the University of California by Sir Patrick Stewart, among others, which is now based at Shakespeare at Notre Dame, Indiana. Touring the US twice yearly, the company’s bespoke five-actor touring and teaching model features week-long residencies at universities across the States. It’s a theatrical experience like no other, and now they're going to be here, at The Hamlet.
This amazing experience, over 400 years in the making, will be taking place on 24 April, and is available to attend for the incredibly generous ticket price of £15.
