IWD Scarves, Mega-Container Spring Sale and Coaches to Oxford City!

1st Mar 2019

WD Limited Edition Scarf

International Women’s Day (IWD), which is next Friday (8 March), is again being promoted by the Supporters’ Trust giving fans at tomorrow’s game against Dartford the opportunity to purchase a new purple and white (IWD colours) scarf from the Mega-Container shop.

The Football Club and Trust started promoting IWD in March 2015, offering free match day tickets to women’s football teams & leagues across London. Supporters will certainly remember the specially produced purple and white kit worn in a league fixture two seasons ago, as well as last years scarf produced in the colours of the Suffragette’s which celebrated the 100-year anniversary of the Representation of the People Act which gave women the right to vote.

Profits from this year’s IWD scarf sale will be shared between two local organisations. One of these are The Red Box Project, a community-based not-for-profit initiative. Their aim is to support young people throughout their periods by providing red boxes filled with free period products to local schools so that no young person misses school or suffers embarrassment because she has her period.

Beth, a volunteer at the Red Box Project, and whose Son is a massive Dulwich Hamlet fan, spoke to the Trust about the charity.

“The Red Box Project gives young women in need – whether for financial or social reasons – the reassurance of being able to take enough products for their entire period. We sponsor and stock a red box filled with period products, spare pants and tights. The box is kept with a designated member of staff in the school and posters placed in the girls’ toilets encourage a young woman in need of period products to ask for the red box.”

The other organisation, who will benefit from the sale of these scarves, is being kept under wraps for the time being. Watch this space!!

Spring Sale

If you are seeking a Spring bargain, make sure that you get yourself along to the Mega-container club shop before or after tomorrows home game against Dartford.

We’re having a bit of a Spring clean to make room for some new ranges over the Summer, so you can now pick up polo shirts and t-shirts for as little as £10 and some very natty teamwear for under £20.

Make sure you get to the Mega-Container and browse through the Sale Rail!

Coach Travel to Oxford City

The Trust are organising a coach for fans wishing to go to the game against Oxford City on Saturday, 23rd March.

Prices are £15 adults and £10 concessions and the coach is been provisionally booked to leave Champion Hill at 11am.

As with previous coaches, we will need advance bookings of at least 50% coach capacity before we are able to confirm it will be running. Therefore, we are asking supporters to book their seat as soon as possible.

You can purchase your ticket for the coach in the Mega-Container at our next two home matches.

If you are unable to make it to any of the above games but would still like to travel with us, please send us an email to put your name down.
