Join DHST on Fan Action Network protest on 18 April
9th Apr 2015
We hope you have had the chance to read the Fan Action Network (FAN) manifesto by now. The “This Game is Our Game” manifesto makes some important recommendations for non-league football that could benefit Dulwich Hamlet if implemented. Not least, the recommendation for the Premier league to increase its contribution to the grassroots (including the non-league) to 15%. The manifesto also makes recommendations that would make ownership of football clubs by supporters trusts easier.
Last month, we suggested DHFC fans keep the morning of 18 April free. The FAN has now announced the plans for this date. It is encouraging all football fans to take to the streets of Westminster and help deliver the manifesto direct to the three main political parties. We look forward to their responses to the issues raised and in particular what they would do to respond as a government if elected. Please do sign up for the event here and share with other interested people.
.
We also encourage you to write to the candidates in your constituency to ask for their response to the manifesto. You may also like to publicise the issues on social media. You could choose to focus on the two recommendations most relevant to DHFC, i.e. the windfall tax and supporter ownership.
If you want to join fellow DHFC fans on the protest, then we will congregate in our best pink and blue colours on the concourse in front of platforms 3 to 6 at London Victoria station at 10am. We will of course return to Champion Hill in plenty of time for our home game against Maidstone United at 3pm. If you have any questions, then don’t hesitate to email us on info@dhst.org.uk.
