Merchandise News - Gavin Watson

2nd Sep 2017

The Supporters’ Trust were contacted by Katie at Mac & Miller last season to supply their boutique on Northcross road in East Dulwich with scarves and footballs.

For their AW17 collection, Mac & Miller wanted to commission a Dulwich Hamlet T-shirt in collaboration with acclaimed photographer Gavin Watson . Gavin, although born in London in 1965, grew up in High Wycombe and this is where he first started taking pictures with a Hanimex camera he bought in his early teens from Woolworths.

Gavin’s best know for his photographs of the working-class skinhead subculture around High Wycombe. His published books Skins (1994) and Skins and Punks (2008) have been cited by director Shane Meadows as an inspiration for his film This is England (2006).

Katie and Gavin attended our home game against Billericay Town on the 19th August and an image was selected for a limited edition T-shirt. The T-shirts are available at Mac & Miller and the Mega-container from this Saturday, priced at £39.

Gavin has generously signed a number of prints of the photographs taken at Champion Hill during his visit. One of each are available from the Trust shop today priced £15 with all proceeds going to this seasons club charity partners Copleston
