Tickets on sale for Dulwich/Altona summer party 10 July 2015
5th Apr 2015
Friendships have developed between the fans of Dulwich Hamlet and Altona 93 over the last few seasons. The red, black and white of Altona has been seen regularly on the terraces of Champion Hill; and many Dulwich supporters have visited the fantastic Adolf-Jager Kampfbahn in the west of Hamburg. Indeed, our supporters team will be there to watch Altona’s last game of the season on Friday 22 May, before fans of both teams will have the chance to play on the pitch the following day.
It won’t be long until we meet again, as our friends from Hamburg are set to descend on mass to South London, as Dulwich Hamlet will be playing a friendly against Altona 93 on Saturday 11 July. This will mark the 90th anniversary since the teams last played each other, when Hamlet travelled to Hamburg in Easter 1925.
The Trust and the football committee intend to welcome our friends from Germany by hosting a party on the preceding night (Friday 10 July) at London’s first community owned pub – the Ivy House in Nunhead. We are delighted that the Relatives (Hamlet fans, naturally) have agreed to headline the night, which will also feature DJs from Dulwich and Altona and a spot of poetry from Hamlet’s unofficial poet laureate. All funds raised on the night will go towards the “Intercity 125” campaign. This aims to raise £8000 to fund the visit of our first team squad to Hamburg in 2018, which will mark the 125th anniversary of both Dulwich Hamlet and Altona 93.
Tickets will be on sale at the mega-shed during Dulwich’s last two home league games this season, against Enfield Town on Easter Monday and Maidstone United on 18 April. There will be 100 tickets available for Dulwich fans initially, with 50 tickets being sent to sell in Hamburg initially. Tickets are £5.
