Football Beyond Borders’ film on Dulwich Hamlet released

25th Apr 2015

Our friends from Football Beyond Borders have been regulars at Champion Hill in 2015. The kids, and the not-so-young, have been overwhelmed by the welcome they have received from Dulwich Hamlet fans. The club were kind enough to provide the club bar for free of charge for their fundraising event in March and fans were very generous in their donations for the campaign to buy recording equipment for FBBTV.

You may have noticed that FBB TV were busy recording (with borrowed equipment) around various parts of the ground during a couple of recent games. They were keen to make a film on what makes our club special. It had its opening night premier in the club bar after the Maidstone game. If you missed it, then it’s now available on the FBB TV YouTube channel and below. We highly recommend you take 5 minutes to watch it. You can also hear how FBB have changed the life of Matthew, the presenter on the DHFC video, here.

Tom “Pez” Rodriguez Perez, Co-Director and Head of Communications from FBB, said “It’s amazing to involve our young people in making a film for FBB TV about Dulwich – a truly unique club with some of the liveliest fans we have ever seen. Matthew and the other young people who’ve come along have been inspired by the community here and have definitely become Dulwich fans themselves! We hope the film will help highlight the value of a diverse and inclusive fan culture and we are delighted that Kick It Out and the FSF have backed the film and FBBTV through their Fans for Diversity fund.” Read more about the film on the FBB website.

Kick It Out and FSF were also impressed by the film and will shortly publish it on their websites. Anwar Uddin, who leads on the delivery of the ‘Fans for Diversity’ campaign, said: “It is fantastic to see Football Beyond Borders put together such a fantastic film displaying the role played by non-league clubs and their supporters in promoting equality, inclusion and diversity in football. Dulwich Hamlet are the main focus for the feature and they continue to act as a shining example for other non-league teams on how to bring the local community closer to their clubs. We have worked closely with Dulwich on a couple of different occasions this season, including Non League Day, and the link-up they have developed with FBB is extremely exciting to see.”
