IWD and Women at the Game
8th Mar 2019
Marking International Women’s day in 2017, Walter Johnson, a Trust Board member at the time, spent a few months interviewing women across the game of football to highlight the breadth of opportunities available to women wanting to make a contribution to the game.
International Women’s Day provided the opportunity to focus on what football is doing to provide more visibility for female role models, to inspire future generations to participate in the game.
Walter spoke to a variety of women in the game, right from the grassroots up to the FA. From coaches educating young girls taking their first kick in the game, right up to players operating at the highest level; he wanted supporters to hear the stories of these inspiring women.
