Dear Mr Masini,

Thank you for your correspondence in relation to the ongoing matter relating to Enfield Town. Notwithstanding some misrepresentation of the ongoing situation, we wish to clarify the following points.

Any player that receives 10 cautions between the opening day of the season and the second Sunday of April, at the corresponding level of the game ,will be suspended for a period of two matches. The player had received 10 cautions and played during the period when he should have been suspended.

The player and Club were charged and the written reasons for the decision of the Independent Regulatory Commission against the Club can be found here: www.thefa.com/~/media/files/pdf/the%20fa%202014-15/written%20reasons/enfield-town-fc-written-reasons.ashx?la=en.

As you may be aware, the Club has appealed the decision of the Regulatory Commission which will be heard by an Independent Appeal Board in due course. As this matter is subject to appeal it would be inappropriate to make any further comment at this stage on the case.

That said, we can only empathise with any supporters that have been impacted by the matter and the subsequent decisions in relation to play-off timing. It is not the intention of The FA to disadvantage supporters of any clubs, at any level, but it is important The FA adheres to the correct processes in what is a complicated matter. We can, therefore, only apologise for any indirect inconvenience caused whilst The FA awaits the outcome of the Independent Appeal Board.

Kind regards,

Simon Bower | Customer Relations
